Discover the vibrant rhythms and traditions of West African drumming in this immersive class! Whether you're a beginner or have drumming experience, this class provides a fun and enriching opportunity to deepen your connection to music and culture. Students will:
Learn to play various instruments of the West African drumming ensemble, including the powerful djembe and resonant dunun.
Explore traditional rhythms, techniques, and the cultural significance of the music.
Develop coordination, timing, and ensemble playing skills in a supportive group setting.
Students will also have several opportunities to perform in the Frederick community, sharing the joy and energy of West African drumming with others. Join us for a rhythmic journey that will leave you feeling inspired and connected!
