Improv is about thinking on your feet and working with other people. Come to class ready to interact with the group using a variety of theater games, exercises, and opportunities to create scenes. This is a great skill for public speaking, performance anxiety, and general confidence-building. We will be performing for and with each other constantly in class, but the course will culminate in a special performance for friends and family. 
 
Matthew Gallant has used improv in his English classrooms and workshops for over twenty years as an educator. He was nominated by W.A.T.C.H. for Outstanding Featured Actor for his portrayal of Karl / Steve in the Silver Spring Community Theater's 2016 production of Clybourne Park. During the summer of 2023, Matthew took part in an intensive workshop on long and short form improv at the Maryland Ensemble Theater in Frederick, Maryland.
